The Butler Industrial Development Authority meetings are held annually at City Hall on the fourth Tuesday in March at 5:30 pm.

The purpose of the Industrial Development Authority is to develop, advance, encourage and promote commercial, industrial, agricultural, manufacturing and residential housing facilities in the city. Specifically, the purpose of the Authority is to purchase, acquire, construct, enlarge, improve, furnish, equip, repair, lease, finance or sell plants, buildings, equipment, machinery used or to be used as a factory, assembly plant, manufacturing plant, processing plant, fabricating plant, distribution center, warehouse building, office building and residential housing.

Directors shall be duly qualified electors of, and taxpayers in, the City of Butler. The directors shall be resident taxpayers for five years immediately prior to their appointment and their terms are for six (6) years. No director shall be an officer or employee of the City of Butler. Directors shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Directors may be reelected.
