Financial Department

The Finance Department is responsible for providing financial information, payroll services, and the administration of all other financial affairs of the City.

Accounts Payable

The Finance Department issues payable checks on the first and third Wednesday of every month. All questions relating to the status of an invoice should be directed to the department or individual that issued the order or requested the service.

City Budget

The City budget is prepared by the Budget Office and approved by the City Council. The goal of the City budget is to evaluate and direct City departments, helping them make successful decisions in resource allocation, program evaluations, financial management, and long-range planning.

Taxes

The City of Butler does not bill or collect taxes. Property taxes are assessed and collected by the County. Sales tax and franchise taxes are collected by local businesses and remitted to the state.
